Oh. Hi again. It’s me, Raiona. I know, I know. It’s been a little while since I’ve written anything on here, let alone shown my face. Well, here I am. Back again.
If you’re new around here, welcome to my little world. I created this space two years ago and have been dabbling around with it ever since. I’ve jumped from cookie recipes to life chats to ocean loving. It’s fair to say that most of the time I’ve not really known what I’ve been doing. I shared some poor excuses for photography and even poorer excuses for words. There were posts I hated, and posts I adored. Yet they all got shared simply so that I had something to share. I was filling gaps with pointless posts that meant nothing to me and probably meant even less to any readers too. My blog has seen a mess, some upset, and some real highs too. Alas, I hit a brick wall earlier this year and was feeling really fed up with my content. I could count on my hands how many posts meant something to me, how many I actually loved. So I’ve decided to start afresh. I’ve cleared out my entire website, re-organised my categories, re-written my about page, re-arranged my layout, re-designed my branded elements. And for the first time in a long time, I feel excited about this space again.
As I’ve already said, there were a few posts that I did adore. I’m still proud of them. I’ll be re-working them beforehand, but they will be shared on here once again. The words still ring true with me; they hold a lot of value in my life. Therefore, I think they’ll resonate with a few of you too. Maybe they’ll even help or inspire you.
If you’ve stuck with me for some time (thank you), you’ll know that in the first few months of this year I started sharing my recent reads. I’ve loved reading ever since I learnt how. Even before that I was transfixed and mesmerised by stories. I love how words have the ability to help you get lost, but can also help you find your way. Words are the most underrated yet exhaustible magic we possess. Yet somehow, it took all that time before I shared my love for books online. I don’t know why it took me so long. So I’ve created a whole category dedicated to books. I hope to fill it just as much as my overflowing bookshelf.
The biggest struggle I always seem to be facing, especially in relation to blogging and other hobbies, is time. It’s a struggle I know everyone shares. In a 24hour society, where does one find the time to do everything they need and want to do? Nevertheless, we’ll take this one post at a time. You’ll notice there’s still a space for my never-ending rambles. My adventures will also now have a home. There’s another new section too, dedicated to my creative work, predominately photography. There’s a home for everything now, so hopefully, that will make things a lot easier for you and me. Oh, not to mention the amount of time I’ll save.
Things are still a mess. I’m figuring a lot out, both with my blog and life in general. I’ll be sharing more of my growth, and honing in on my style in all aspects of the word. I invite you to come along with me, join me on my journey and find your own too.
Welcome to Raiona Hope, it’s good to see you.
